‘Black Widow’ Concept Art Provides First Official Look At Taskmaster

The excitement from Marvel’s Comic-Con Panel still hasn’t died down, and fans are losing their minds over the many announcements that were made last night. Black Widow, the long in development solo film starring Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff, will hit theaters next summer. And now, thanks Marvel artist Andy Park, we now have a first look at the film’s primary antagonist, Taskmaster.
Taskmaster has long been rumored to show up in Black Widow, and the character briefly appeared in a footage reel shown to Comic-Con attendees at last night’s Hall H presentation. He can be seen sporting a variation of his signature mask, as well as a shield featuring his logo. Given that the film takes place directly after the events of Captain America: Civil War, could he have been hired to track down Romanoff and bring her in? The film won’t release for nearly a year, so only time will tell.
Taskmaster has the unique ability to copy the fighting style of anyone he faces, so he’s sure to be a challenging opponent for Widow. The film is currently shooting in Budapest, and any Marvel fan knows the significance of that, having been referenced in the very first Avengers film.
Black Widow stars Scarlett Johansson, David Harbour, Florence Pugh, Rachel Weisz, O.T. Fagbenle. The film hits theaters May 2020.
