Leaked concept art reveals what Drew Van Acker will don when he portrays Aqualad on Titans. The image, which comes via The GWW’s Thomas Polito, provides a blurred look at Garth’s suit in the upcoming second season of the DC Universe series.
In recent years, Aqualad has worn a blue costume with white trimming, but DCU has decided to go for a more classic look. The live-action attire bears some resemblance to Garth’s first suit in the comics, while also taking some influence from Aquaman’s iconic gold and green color scheme, which was featured prominently in last year’s Jason Momoa-led film. Created by Robert Bernstein and Ramona Fradon, Aqualad first appeared in Adventure Comics #269 in February of 1960. Garth was the teen sidekick and protege of his guardian, Aquaman. He possessed the same abilities as his mentor allowing him to breathe underwater and communicate with marine life.
This season of Titans is set to be jam-packed with Batman, Aqualad, Superboy, Krypto, Mercy Graves, Deathstroke, Jericho, and Ravager confirmed to be joining the series. Dr. Light, Aquagirl, and Terra are also rumored to have roles in the show’s sophomore outing.
