Netflix & Warner Bros. TV Nearing Deal To Develop A ‘Sandman’ TV Series

One of Neil Gaiman’s most beloved works will soon be coming to screens. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. TV and Netflix are nearing a deal to develop Neil Gaiman’s Sandman comic into a TV series.
For years Warner Bros. has been looking to develop Gaiman’s The Sandman into a feature film with previous plans landing in production limbo. But it seems WB finally has some inkling of a plan as sources claim they have signed a massive financial deal with Netflix to adapt the comic into a live-action TV series. Sources close to the story note that this will be the most expensive TV series DC Entertainment has ever done.
THR reports that Allan Heinberg, who has worked previously on Wonder Woman and Grey’s Anatomy, will write and serve as showrunner on the drama. And fans will be happy to hear Neil Gaiman himself will executive produce the series alongside David Goyer.
Netflix and Warner Bros. have yet to comment on the series as it seems no formal deal has been closed. No word on when the series will air or how many episodes it will be comprised of has been announced. So hopefully, as this story develops, we will get some further updates from the studio and the streaming service. We can hope to get some word from Neil Gaiman as he has been known to be very transparent about this work on social media.
