‘Lobo’ Spinoff Series In Development At Syfy

Last night, Krypton, a series based on years before the destruction of Superman’s home planet that follows Superman’s grandfather, premiered its second season on Syfy. Promotional material for this upcoming season has heavily featured legendary DC anti-hero Lobo in his first live-action adaptation. Well, it looks like the power-that-be at Syfy are so confident in this variation of the character that he is getting his own series.
According to Deadline, the show will be a joint-venture between Syfy and Warner Horizon Scripted Television. Emmett J. Scanlan, who plays the character in season 2 of Krypton, is in talks to reprise his role for the developing series.
Since his first appearance within the pages of DC Comics, Zhariff Lobo has been a vicious and foul-mouthed anti-hero widely acclaimed by fans. Writers have often used him as a parody of grim and gritty characters found in Marvel such as Wolverine and the Punisher. His popularity and superhuman abilities have made him a staple for the brand for decades.
