Gavin Downes Joins ‘Titans’ Season 2 As The Original Dr. Light

Another classic DC Comics character has joined the second season of Titans. According to insider Lance Ausfresser in the Titans Facebook group, Gavin Downes will portray Jacob Finlay in the DC Universe series.
Downes is best known for his role as the demon Belial in the 2019 horror film Beyond Hell. His other work includes an uncredited role in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad and appearances in various short films.
First appearing in Secret Origins Vol. 2 #37 in 1989, Jacob Finlay was a scientist with S.T.A.R. Labs who had aspirations of becoming a superhero. He went on to create the guise of Dr. Light in hopes of fighting crime alongside other heroes. Thinking being a hero was a waste, Arthur Light stole the Dr. Light suit and began committing crimes. Finlay eventually died following an altercation with Arthur.

Earlier this year, Ausfresser reported that Arthur Light would appear in Titans season two as a secondary villain. If that is the case, Finlay will likely play some part in setting the antagonist down his criminal path, mirroring the events that took place in the comics.
