Matt Reeves’ ‘The Batman’ Rumored To Include Robin

As the ink dries on Robert Pattinson’s deal to portray Bruce Wayne in Matt Reeves’ The Batman, a new report claims that the Caped Crusader may not be fighting crime alone. According to Forbes, the upcoming film could “potentially” see the appearance of Robin.
With this film serving as a soft prequel of sorts, Reeves is sure to pull from past events in Batman’s life that were touched on during Ben Affleck’s run as the character. One of those is potentially Robin, who was confirmed to have existed in the universe in Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice. In the film, Bruce Wayne is seen walking past a torn up suit which belonged to his trusty sidekick before he met his untimely death.

Last year, director Zack Snyder revealed on Vero that in the universe he was spearheading, Dick Grayson was the one killed by the Joker, not Jason Todd. That didn’t sit well with fans as they believed an opportunity for them to once again see Grayson fight alongside Batman on the big screen was gone. However, since Reeves has taken control of the character, a light at the end of the tunnel has appeared for fans of the original Boy Wonder.
Robin hasn’t appeared in a feature film since Chris O’Donnell portrayed the character in 1997s Batman & Robin. Although, in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises, Joseph Gordon Levitt’s character’s real name was revealed to be Robin, which is, of course, a clear nod to the iconic sidekick. Currently, Brenton Thwaites plays Dick Grayson on DC Universe’s Titans, which returns for a second season later this year.
