‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ Clip Features Spider-UK Connection

Spider-Man: Far From Home may feature an appearance by a deep-cut comic hero. In a clip released for the highly-anticipated MCU film, Jake Gyllenhaal’s Quentin Beck mentions that he resides from Earth-833. In the comics, this reality is home to Spider-UK, an alternate version of everyone’s favorite wall-crawler.
First appearing in Edge of Spider-Verse #2 in 2014, William “Billy” Braddock is a member of the Captain Britain Corps who operates under the codename Spider-UK. Braddock has powers similar to the one’s Peter Parker gained following his run-in with a mutated spider. Spider-UK also has access to an inter-dimensional device that allows him to travel to different dimensions.

If the name Braddock sounds familiar, it’s because it’s a name shared by Bronze Age hero Captain Britain. If you watched Avengers: Endgame, you’ll know that Brian Braddock was alluded to when Steve Rogers visited Peggy Carter’s S.H.I.E.L.D. office in the 1970s.
