‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ Will Conclude Phase 3 Of The MCU

Although the upcoming Avengers: Endgame will unite many heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it turns out this gargantuan crossover will not serve as the conclusion for Phase 3. According to a recent interview with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, he has revealed that Spider-Man: Far From Home, the studio’s third release in 2019, will cap off the universe’s latest phase.
This marks the second Spider-Man film to be in Phase 3 after 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. In addition, this is the second time an MCU phase has concluded with a non-Avengers movie, as 2015’s Ant-Man served as the end of Phase 2. As such, there has yet to be a series of Marvel Studios films after Phase 1 (which ended with 2012’s The Avengers) to conclude with a major crossover.
Given that Far From Home takes place after Endgame, some may feel that it would serve better as the introduction to Phase 4. However, it is also likely that the narrative of the upcoming Spider-Man film will justify its place in Phase 3 and tie itself with the events of Endgame. As such, Spider-Man and MCU fans will have to wait for the film’s July 2019 release date to see the full details.
