Newcomer Daniela Melchior Joins ‘The Suicide Squad’ As Ratcatcher
James Gunn has rounded out the cast for his upcoming DC film. According to Variety, Portuguese actress Daniela Melchior has joined the film as Batman villain Ratcatcher.
Making his debut in Detective Comics #585 in 1988, Otis Flannegan was a literal rat catcher in Gotham before turning to a life of crime. The character has been portrayed as a man up to this point, meaning Gunn has taken some liberties with Flannegan for his upcoming film. According to reports, Ratcatcher will have a connection to Idris Elba’s new character, although it’s still unclear who exactly the MCU actor will bring to life on the big screen.
The GWW were the first to report Warner Bros. interest in Melchior, stating she was on a shortlist for the role alongside Instant Family actress Isabela Moner.
