‘Black Widow’ Adds ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ Actor O-T Fagbenle
Marvel’s next solo outing will see the long-awaited feature film of their most notorious spy, Black Widow. The movie is currently in pre-production and now, from Deadline, we have word that O-T Fagbenle has joined the cast.
Fagbenle’s role is still unknown at this time or to what degree he will be utilized in the film. The film is rumored to be an origin story set around Y2K. The prevailing theory is Fagbenle will be playing the fan-favorite character “Taskmaster” but that isn’t known at this time.
Fagbenle is best known as Luke Bankole from the hit Hulu show The Handmaid’s Tale. He’s also been in HBO’s Looking and the BBC’s The Interceptor.
The film’s cast is beginning round out as production is expected to begin in London this June. The cast consists of Scarlett Johansson, as the titular hero, Florence Pugh (Fighting With My Family), David Harbour (Stranger Things) and Rachel Weisz (The Favourite). The film is to be directed by Cate Shortland.
