Mark Hamill To Voice Chucky In ‘Child’s Play’ Reboot

With the upcoming Child’s Play reboot slowly reaching its June 2019 release, fans have been wondering who will be providing the voice for Chucky, the franchise’s iconic killer doll. According to a recent appearance from the cast and filmmakers at this week’s Wondercon, it turns out that Mark Hamill will be voicing Chucky.
In addition to the announcement at Wondercon, Hamill himself has just revealed his involvement with the project on Twitter via a video announcement. This is the first time in the Child’s Play franchise that a series newcomer will be voicing the character. Since the series began in 1988, Brad Dourif has provided the voice for all seven of the previous films, including 2017’s Cult of Chucky, the franchise’s previous entry.
Given Hamill’s previous voice roles such the Joker in Batman: The Animated Series, it is evident that voicing Chucky will allow him to add another iconic character to his arsenal. Clips have yet to be released featuring his voice acting, so it is unclear what his approach to the character will be. Nevertheless, fans of Hamill now have a chance to witness him in one of the most notable horror franchises.
