‘Avengers: Endgame’ On Track For $840 Million Opening Weekend

Avengers: Endgame is set to be one of the most successful films of 2019 as the all-time record books should prepare themselves for a new champion. According to Deadline, thanks to the confirmation that the movie’s Chinese release is set for April 24th, it is well on its way to an $800 Million-plus opening weekend worldwide.
This tracking comes from the MCU’s history with the worldwide box office. Last year, Avengers: Infinity War opened with around $640 Million worldwide. This did not initially include China or Russia since the third Avengers film would open in those countries two weeks later. Once the Chinese release occurred, it opened at almost $200 Million.
With the Avengers: Endgame opening taking place between April 24-April 26 worldwide, it is extremely likely that the groundbreaking climax of the MCU coming within earshot of the $1 Billion mark in its opening weekend.
The current list of the top ten highest grossing films of all time includes 4 MCU films. The Avengers, Avenger: Age of Ultron, Black Panther, and Avengers: Infinity War have all dominated their respective box office and cracked over $1 Billion and that number is likely to become 5 come the end of April. It is also very possible that, by the end of its run, Avengers: Endgame could be the highest grossing film of all time.
