Disney’s Acquisition Of Fox Expected To Close Next Week

The Walt Disney Co. announced on Tuesday that their acquisition of large parts of 21st Century Fox is expected to close on Wednesday, March 20.
Last week, Walt Disney chairman and CEO Bob Iger said that the $71.3 billion deal was in its final stages and we should be expecting it to close soon.
Disney is set to acquire most of Fox’s assets, including the film and TV studio, National Geographic, FX, and an additional 30 percent stake in Hulu. The marquee franchises that Disney is set to inherit include James Cameron’s Avatar sequels, Alien, and Kingsman while Fox superhero properties such as X-Men and Fantastic Four are heading to Marvel Studios.
The rest of Fox – which includes Fox News and the Fox broadcast network – will operate as a separate entity after the deal closes next week.
