Rumored Wishlist For Titular Role In ‘The Batman’ Reveals New Faces

We may be one step closer to knowing who will don the cowl in Matt Reeves’ upcoming DC project. A wishlist obtained by The GWW has revealed a list of new candidates that Warner Bros. is potentially eyeing to star in The Batman.
In recent months, Reeves has made it clear that he’s looking to start fresh with his new iteration of Bruce Wayne. Ben Affleck’s time as Batman has come to an end as this movie will attempt to pivot to a younger version of the character in his early days of crime fighting. That kind of order would call for an actor much younger than Affleck to step into the role, something this new wishlist makes abundantly clear.
The names included in the list are that of Jack Reynor, Alexander Ludwig, Jack O’Connell, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Nicholas Hoult. Two of those should sound familiar as Taylor-Johnson and Hoult have both appeared in superhero franchises, Taylor-Johnson as Quicksilver in Avengers: Age of Ultron and Hoult as Hank McCoy/Beast in the recent X-Men films.
The other three candidates may not be household names, but they surely fit the build of a young Bruce Wayne. Reynor starred alongside Mark Wahlberg in 2014s Transformers: Age of Extinction and has a leading role in A24s upcoming Midsommar. Ludwig appeared briefly in 2012s The Hunger Games and currently stars on History Channel’s Vikings. Finally, O’Connell starred in 2014s Unbroken as war hero Louis Zamperini, an Olympic athlete who survived imprisonment at the hands of the Japanese in World War II.
