Ava DuVernay Drops First Teaser For Central Park Five Netflix Series ‘When They See Us’

Academy Award nominee Ava DuVernay has released the first teaser for When They See Us, a Netflix limited series surrounding the events of Central Park Five.
The highly-anticipated series tells the story of five teenagers of color – Korey, Antron, Raymond, Yusef, and Kevin – who are wrongfully convicted of raping a white woman. DuVernay has a knack for telling true stories in compelling ways and working with Netflix after the stellar 13th is a very good sign. She posted the teaser today and there are a lot of things to say about it. One thing is for sure, this is going to be a must-watch.

DuVernay directed and co-wrote the four-episode series which is set to debut on this summer on May 31.
