‘Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse’ Footage Description Revealed

During Sony’s panel at CinemaCon, the studio debuted the first 15 minutes of the highly anticipated sequel Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. According to descriptions of the footage shown, the beginning of the film highlights Gwen Stacy’s universe and introduces some new faces.
The movie starts in Gwen’s universe, Earth-65, where she is having a conversation with her police officer father, who is hunting Spider-Woman, unaware of Gwen’s secret identity. The conversation is soon cut short when the Vulture breaks outs and attacks New York. Gwen goes after the villain, where it is revealed he comes from another universe.
As the Vulture is about to beat Gwen, she is rescued by Miguel O’Hara, also known as Spider-Man 2099, who appeared in the post-credit scene of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. He reveals that the final battle with Kingpin in the first film opened tears across the multiverse, letting villains flow throughout the universes. However, this has also allowed other Spiders to travel, such as the pregnant Jessica Drew, the Spider-Woman of Earth-404. The two heroes help Gwen take out the Vulture, but she is then faced with a new problem as he father holds her at gunpoint, accusing her of killing that universes Peter Parker. Gwen ultimately has to unmask and plead with her father but is forced to flee the scene with a multiverse jumper.

Unfortunately, he’s having trouble keeping his superhero identity a secret from his parents as they have grown suspicious.
In addition to the footage, producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller revealed that over 1,000 animation staffers worked on the project. The movie will feature 240 characters and is set to span six different universes.
