Shawn Levy To Direct Ryan Reynolds’ ‘Deadpool 3’

It seems Marvel Studios has finally found a director for the long-awaited installment in the hit franchise. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Shawn Levy has been tapped to helm Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool 3.
The director is currently in negotiations to reteam with Reynolds after collaborating on Free Guy and Netflix’s The Adam Project. The actor had previously stated he was planning to work with Levy again on future projects and it seems this is one of them.

A first draft of the project was penned by Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin, known for the animated series Bob’s Burgers. Now Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick who wrote the previous two Deadpool films are set to work on the project.
Levy will follow Tim Miller and David Leitch, who worked on the first two films in the franchise respectively. In addition to Free Guy and The Adam Project, he is known for his work on the Night at the Museum, Real Steel, Stranger Things, and Arrival, for which he won an Academy Award.
