New ‘Jurassic World’ Film In The Works From Original Scriptwriter
Universal is looking to kickstart a “new Jurassic era” from a familiar creative. According to The Hollywood Reporter, David Koepp, who penned Steven Spielberg’s original Jurassic Park, has been tapped to write a new Jurassic World film.
According to the report, Universal is deep in the development of the new project. The project is seemingly well along and is well-liked, with a possible release date set for 2025. No director is currently attached to the film, but Frank Marshall, who oversaw the Jurassic World trilogy, is back alongside Patrick Crowley. Spielberg will executive produce via his Amblin Entertainment banner.

Sources claim the film will launch a “new Jurassic era” with an all-new storyline. This would suggest there will be no returning stars from the Jurassic World or Jurassic Park trilogies. The prior trilogy left the world dealing with the repercussions of dinosaurs now roaming the planet, so it seems the new film will further explore this.
In addition to Jurassic Park, Koepp is best known for his work on Mission: Impossible, Spider-Man, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and most recently, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
