It appears Alaqua Cox’s Maya Lopez will have a prominent role in the future of the Marvel universe. According to insider Daniel Ricthman, the actress will return as Echo in the highly anticipated Daredevil: Born Again.

Cox is currently set to star in her own series on Disney+, which will release sometime in 2023. While the show will focus on her solo adventures after the events of Hawkeye, she will also be joined by Charlie Cox’s Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk. According to recent rumors, Daredevil’s appearance will involve him searching for one of his allies.

This plot thread will apparently stretch over into Daredevil: Born Again. Ricthman did not clarify how large of a role she will play in the series, but it seems likely she will continue to help Cox’s Daredevil with his search.

Matt Corman and Chris Ord are set to write and executive produce the revival. It was confirmed at San Diego Comic-Con that the series will be 18 episodes and will premiere around the Spring of 2024.
