Jacob Elordi & Cailee Spaeny To Star In Sofia Coppola’s ‘Elvis and Me’ Adaptation For A24

Fresh off the heels of the success of Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis at the worldwide box office, another actor is reportedly getting the chance to play the iconic musical figure. According to Deadline, A24 has tapped Jacob Elordi and Cailee Spaeny to portray Elvis and Priscilla Presley, respectively, in the upcoming film titled Priscilla.
Per the initial report, Academy Award winner Sofia Coppola will direct the feature. Moreover, Coppola adapted the film’s screenplay as well. A24 will distribute in North America with Sony’s Stage 6 Filmsfinancing the feature.

The movie will be based on Priscilla Presley’s 1985 New York Times Bestseller Elvis and Me: The True Story of the Love Between Priscilla Presley and the King of Rock N’ Roll. The memoir details the intimate relationship Priscilla shared with Elvis. In the book, Priscilla talks about meeting Elvis, their marriage, and the factors and issues that led to the couple’s divorce.
Cailee Spaeny’s first major role was in the science fiction action film Pacific Rim: Uprising, which was followed by appearances in Bad Times at the El Royale, On the Basis of Sex, and Vice the same year. Most recently, the actress touts a role in the critically acclaimed HBO crime drama Mare of Easttown. Moreover, per the initial report, Spaeny was Coppola’s number one choice to play Priscilla Presley in the film. Meanwhile, Jacob Elordi is known for his roles in Netflix’s The Kissing Booth franchise and the award-winning HBO series Euphoria. Up next, Elordi will star alongside Rosamund Pike in Emerald Fennell’s upcoming thriller Saltburn.
