Leaked ‘Doctor Strange 2’ Promo Art Offers First Look At America Chavez & New Villain

As the release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness draws near, promo art for the film has leaked early. This piece offers the first look at actress Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez and a glimpse at a new villain.
Debuting within the pages of Marvel Comics in 2011, Chavez, AKA Miss America, is the first Latin-American LGBTQ character to star in an ongoing series. She often appears alongside the Young Avengers, The Ultimates, and the West Coast Avengers. Her abilities include superhuman strength, speed, durability, flight, and inter-reality transportation. Moreover, the character is voiced by The Fosters star Cierra Ramirez in Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors.

As can be seen in the images above, the box art features the first look at Gomez’s Chavez alongside Benedict Cumberbatch’s Strange, Benedict Wong’s Wong, and Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda. The LEGO set also appears to feature some of the heroes facing off with an unfamiliar foe. According to the set description, this character is Gargantos, who fans of the comics will know as a sea monster that has faced off with the likes of Namor the Sub-Mariner.
Wong, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams are also set to reprise their roles from the original film as Wong, Strange’s nemesis Karl Mordo, and Christine Palmer, respectively. Gomez is set to make her MCU debut as America Chavez. Sam Raimi took over directing duties for the movie after Scott Derrickson exited the project earlier this year.
