Back in January, Netflix announced the first roster of stars joining the cast of the live-action adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman. Now the additional cast of the series has finally been announced. Wednesday morning, the streaming service officially confirmed the following stars joined the show.
Netflix’s The Sandman will feature Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Death, Mason Alexander Park as Desire, Donna Preston as Despair, Razane Jammal as Lyta Hall, Joely Richardson as Ethel Cripps, Niamh Walsh as young Ethel Cripps, David Thewlis as John Dee, Kyo Ra as Rose Walker, Patton Oswalt as the voice of Matthew, the Raven, Stephen Fry as Gilbert, Jenna Coleman as Johanna Constantine, and Sandra James Young as Unity Kincaid.
The Sandman series was given an 11 episode order from Warner Bros. and Netflix. Gaiman is set to executive produce with David S. Goyer and writer/showrunner Allan Heinberg. Production on the series was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which luckily gave the creative team time to perfect the scripts. Thankfully though, production on the highly anticipated series is finally underway.
