As the first season of the hit anime Jujutsu Kaisen wraps up, a movie has been officially announced. The film is set to adapt the prequel manga Jujutsu Kaisen 0 for a release this Winter.
Created by Gege Akutami, Jujutsu Kaisen debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2018. The series follows Yuji Itadori as he joins a secret society of Jujutsu Sorcerers to combat Curses. Volume 0 was serialized as a prequel series. It focused on the character Yuta Okkotsu and his foray into the world of Jujutsu sorcery.

The film will be animated by Studio MAPPA, who handled production on season 1 of the series. No official release date has been confirmed for the movie beyond Winter.
Sunghoo Park directed season 1 of the anime while Hiroshi Seko wrote and supervised the scripts. Tadashi Hiramatsu designed the characters and Hiroaki Tsutsumi, Yoshimasa Terui, and Arisa Okehazama composed the music.
