Based on a new report, Disney has found its live-action Captain Hook. According to Variety, Jude Law has been cast as the classic villain in Peter Pan & Wendy.

The film is another entry in Disney’s growing list of live-action adaptations of its animated classics. Previous rumors claimed the movie could end up on Disney+, similar to the live-action Lady and the Tramp, but it seems this plan has changed as Peter Pan & Wendy is now expected to have a theatrical release.

Law follows in the footsteps of Dustin Hoffman, Jason Isaacs, and Hugh Jackman, who have all played the iconic character. He will star alongside Alexander Molony and Ever Anderson, who will play Peter Pan and Wendy, respectively.

Peter Pan & Wendy is not the first attempt at creating a live-action version of Peter Pan. The first adaptation was the cult-classic Hook, which starred Robin Willaims and, most recently, was Jackman’s Pan.

David Lowery, who directed Pete’s Dragon, is currently on board to direct. Lowery co-wrote the script with Toby Halbrooks, with Jim Whitaker producing.
