Marvel Studios Reportedly Developing Agents Of Atlas Project

Based on a new report, it seems Marvel Studios is hoping to set up a new corner of the MCU with Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. According to Geeks WorldWide, the studio is developing Agents of Atlas project as a follow up to the film.

The group’s first in-continuity appearance was in 2006’s Agents of Atlas #1 under the creative team of Jeff Parker and Leonard Kirk. While the original iteration of the team was comprised of characters that first appeared in Atlas Comics, a new lineup was revamped in 2019 made up of Asian and Asian American heroes. The current team includes founding member Jimmy Woo, Aero, Brawn, Crescent & Io, Luna Snow, Shang-Chi, Silk, Sword Master, Wave and White Fox.

It’s unclear whether Agents of Atlas will be a movie or a Disney+ series, but according to the report, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will be used to set up the team. If that’s the case, it seems likely the MCU will adapt the most recent version of the group comprised of Asian and Asian American heroes. Besides Shang-Chi, the only member of the team currently in the MCU is Jimmy Woo, played by Randall Park. This could mean fans can expect to see several new heroes introduced very soon.

The film stars Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Tony Chiu-Wai Leung as the Mandarin and Awkwafina in an undisclosed role.

  1. Agents of Atlas is racist concept, if Marvel think that pushing a group of random Asian character together, ignoring the fact that some of these nations do not historically see eye to eye on a large number of issue are not going to find this highly offensive, then they are in for a rude awakening, they’ve already outraged a large number of Scottish readers with their insensitive blundering in forced unification called The Union, when are Marvel going to learn to do a little cultural home work first before wading in with ill informed child like assumptions.
