‘Bad Boys 4’ In Development At Sony Pictures

The third film in the Bad Boys franchise, Bad Boys for Life, hit theaters today. However, it looks like the latter part of that title might be literal. As first reported by THR, Sony Pictures is currently in the process of developing a fourth Bad Boys.

Series stars Will Smith and Martin Lawerence are expected to reprise their roles. Additionally, Chris Bremner, who worked on Bad Boys for Life, has been tapped to pen the script.

Beginning in 1995, Bad Boys is an action buddy-cop film starring two of the most recognizable actors on the planet. Bad Boys II released 8 years later in 2003. The third film, Bad Boys For Lie, took the scenic route to its release 17 years after its predecessor. However, multiple disagreements and false-starts kept it from its initial release date. It is likely that the studio will not have that big a gap between it and the upcoming Bad Boys 4.

Smith and Lawerence, while speaking with various media outlets, discussed just how much the films meant to them and the African-American community as a whole. They seem on-board with the franchise for as long as Sony will produce it.
