Erica Durance To Return As Lois Lane In ‘Crisis On Infinite Earths’

Since the Arrowverse kicked off all those years ago, there’s been plenty of crossover between series. With this year’s annual crossover tackling Crisis on Infinite Earths, things are about to get even crazier with the addition of a second Lois Lane.
According to Deadline, Erica Durance will return to the Arrowverse, but in a different role. She will be back in the crossover as Lois Lane from The CW’s Smallville. She will reunite with Welling’s Clark Kent for the first time since the series went off the air a decade ago.
Durance is no stranger to the Arrowverse as she appeared in Season 3 of Supergirl as Kara Zor-El’s mother, Alura.
Executive producer Marc Guggenheim revealed following the Tom Welling announcement that the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover wouldn’t have happened without Smallville:
“For eight years, Arrow has stood on the shoulders of Smallville. Simply put, there would be no Arrow, and no Arrowverse, without it.”

It is cool to see Guggenheim wanting to bring back familiar characters from Smallville as a sign of respect. Durance will be the second Lois Lane to appear in the Arrowverse. Grimm star Elizabeth Tulloch portrayed the character in the Elseworlds crossover last year.
With Durance returning as Lois Lane, fans have begun calling for an even bigger Smallville reunion. They are holding out hope that Michael Rosenbaum will be given the opportunity to return to as Lex Luthor one last time.
