Bane Deathstroke

‘Bane & Deathstroke’ Film Reportedly In Development

DC Studios may be looking to develop its upcoming cinematic universe further with some of its most notable villains. According to The Hollywood Reporter, a team-up film featuring Bane and Deathstroke is in the works with a script from Matthew Orton.

Created by Chuck Dixon and Graham Nolan in 1993, Bane debuted in Batman: Vengeance of Bane #1. Born and raised in a prison, he was the unwitting test subject for the super-steroid Venom, which granted him enhanced strength. He has gone on to become one of Batman’s most enduring foes. The character was portrayed by Robert Swenson in 1997’s Batman & Robin and, most notably, by Tom Hardy in 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises.

Deathstroke debuted in 1980’s The New Teen Titans #2 and was created by Marv Wolfman and George Perez. A former U.S. Army operative, he was granted superhuman abilities thanks to a super-soldier serum. One of the deadliest assassins in the DC Universe, he is the archenemy of the Teen Titans but has faced off against many other iconic heroes. He has been portrayed by Manu Bennett and Esai Morales in Arrow and Titans, respectively. Additionally, Joe Manganiello briefly appeared as the character in 2017’s Justice League.

Orton most recently served as a scribe for the upcoming Marvel Studios feature film Captain America: Brave New World. James Gunn and Peter Safran are developing the potential project for DC Studios, but no director is currently attached.

Details surrounding the potential plot are scarce, but some have theorized this may be a Secret Six movie with Bane and Deathstroke serving as team members. The Secret Six is a team of mainly villainous characters with a rotating roster that often sets out on dangerous missions under a mystery leader.
