It looks like The Bikeriders director Jeff Nichols has his sights set on his next film and already has an actor in mind to lead the project. According to insider Daniel Richtman, Brade Pitt is in talks to star in Nichols’s untitled sci-fi movie for Paramount.
In June, it was reported that Nichols’ previously announced Alien Nation remake had been repurposed into an all-new original sci-fi film. Set in Arkansas, the filmmaker described the story as everything he wants to say about humanity and the universe. The movie will also have a large scope and feature aliens.

Richtman has revealed that Pitt is being eyed to star in the project, with shooting set for May of next year. The star is set to appear next in Jon Watt’s Wolfs alongside George Clooney, with a release date set for September. Additionally, he will star in Joseph Kosinski’s F1, which won’t premiere until June of next year as filming is still underway.
Nichols is best known for 2012’s Mud, starring Matthew McConaughey, and 2016’s The Midnight Special, starring Michael Shannon and Joel Edgerton. Most recently, the director helmed the previously mentioned The Bikeriders with Austin Butler and Tom Hardy.
