At San Diego Comic-Con’s highly anticipated Marvel Studios’ Hall H panel, the first look at the Fantastic Four reboot (recently subtitled First Steps) was finally revealed. Unfortunately, the teaser was only available to those in attendance and was not officially released. But now the footage has leaked online, offering fans the first glimpse of Marvel’s first family.
The footage offers the first look into what Marvel Studios has planned for the iconic characters. As previously rumored, based on the clothing and general aesthetic of the teaser, they will be from a retro-futuristic 1960s. In the teaser, the characters can be seen preparing for their journey to space prior to their exposure to cosmic radiation.

Additionally, teases of them post-exposure are also featured, including a silhouette of Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s The Thing. The footage ends with a glimpse of Galactus as he peers through the side of a building, teasing the staggering size of the giant celestial being.
Fantastic Four is set to star Pedro Pascal’s Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby’s Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn’s Human Torch, and Moss-Bachrach’s The Thing. Additionally, they will be joined by Julia Garner, who was previously cast as a female Silver Surfer, and Ralph Ineson as Galactus. Matt Shakman is attached to helm the project with a screenplay from Eric Pearson, Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan, and Ian Springer. Filming is set to begin on Tuesday.
