Oscar winner Brendan Fraser has found his next project as he is officially set to star in the D-Day movie Pressure. According to Deadline, the star has been tapped to play Supreme Allied Commander Dwight D. Eisenhower.
The drama from Working Title and Studiocanal will focus on the days leading up to the Normandy landings. Fraser joins All of Us Strangers star Andrew Scott, who will play Britain’s Chief Meteorological Officer James Stagg. Stagg informed Eisenhower of weather conditions that would have impacted the invasion.

Pressure is set to be helmed by Anthony Maras, who previously directed Hotel Mumbai. The project will start shooting in September. David Haig and Maras wrote the screenplay based on the former’s play.
An official synopsis for the film was also released and reads:
“In the 72 hours leading up to D-Day, all the pieces are in place except for one key element — the British weather. Britain’s Chief Meteorological Officer James Stagg is called upon to deliver the most consequential forecast in history, locking him into a tense standoff with the entire Allied leadership. The wrong conditions could devastate the largest-ever seaborne invasion, while any delay risks German intelligence catching on. With only his trusted aide Captain Kay Summersby to confide in, and haunted by a catastrophic D-Day rehearsal, the final decision rests with Supreme Allied Commander Dwight D. Eisenhower. With only hours to go, the fate of the war and the lives of millions hang in the balance.”
Fraser most recently starred in Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon, following his role in The Whale, for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor. He is set to appear next in the comedy-drama film Rental Family from Mitsuya Miyazaki.
