After last year’s critically acclaimed Killers of the Flower Moon, Martin Scorsese has already lined up his next two features. The first being his adaptation of Life of Jesus and the second is a Frank Sinatra biopic.

The latter will reportedly feature Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence as the legendary crooner and his second wife Ava Gardner respectively. Unfortunately, the project may hit some snags as Tina Sinatra controls her father’s estate and has yet to give the film her blessing. Despite this Scorsese is already hard at planning for the film and had some major studios interested including Apple and Sony, who is a frontrunner for the project.

It may be a few years before the film is released, assuming the project comes to fruition, as Scorsese’s Jesus movie is first on his docket. The film is expected to begin filming later this year in Israel, Italy, and Egypt which would mean it is eyeing a 2025 release at the earliest.
