‘Alita: Battle Angel’ Sequel Project Potentially Being Explored

It seems fans may not have seen the last of Rosa Salazar’s Alita. Insider Daniel Richtman has revealed there is a chance for an Alita: Battle Angel sequel.

Based on the 1990s series Gunnm created by Japanese manga artist Yukito Kishiro, Alita: Battle Angel is a 2019 cyber-punk action film. Set in a post-apocalyptic future, the film focuses on Alita, an abandoned robot found by the compassionate Doctor Ido. As she tries to find her way in this mysterious new world, she faces not only new threats but also her own past.

The film was met with poor reviews from critics and audiences but has since drawn a cult following. Fans of the film have created a movement to get the film a sequel of some kind, and it seems it may have been a success. Richtman explained in his post that he heard there is a chance for a sequel of some kind. This could come in the form of a show, a movie, or both.

As of now, there has been no official word on a sequel project, so for now, this is just a rumor. However, it would make sense for them to explore the idea given the second life the film has received thanks to fans.

  1. I not only want a sequel, I expect one. You can’t have a movie that introduces Edward Norton as a character right at the end, and not follow up on that. Besides, I thought it was a cool movie. I’ve gone back and watched it a few times.

    1. Hell yes hope they do

  2. Hell yes I would

  3. This movie was great. If I live by a movie theater I’d go see it again

  4. I am looking forward to a sequel to Alita.

  5. Yes I like this movie plz make a second part of it..

Of course All Alita’s fans beg for a sequel, I’ve been reading the comic books and could get some reveletions throughout the story.
      It’s an amazing world.

  9. I really enjoyed the BATTLE ANGEL film….
I am one of the fan for this cult film….
I support to build the sequel of this film

  10. Alita did fine at the box office (not great) and wasn’t disliked by critics. It’s the only live action manga that wasn’t terrible. It was designed for at least one sequel and it should be made.

  11. Yes please a sequel would be great

  12. What do you mean by poor audience reception? It was review bombed for being a direct competitor for Captain Marvel, but it still had 90-ish audience scores on RT and Metacritic. People loved Alita.

  13. If there was a sequel I hope it’s more like the first 30 minutes of the move, than the last 2 hours. I watched it twice because I could understand why I didn’t like it, . Second time I realised the last 2 hours bored me because of the additional bits they added, like Hugo as a love interest.
The film should have been more about Ido’s relationship with her, but it threw out a n interesting character and great actor for something worse (and derivative).

  14. Alita was a terrific film and totally underrated. Audiences disagreed with critics (quite rightly) and interest in the film has been growing. YES to a sequel and a trilogy!

  15. Definitely we want a sequel for alita battle angel. It is a great movie.

  16. Bring it ,a sequel would be fantastic please .
