Marvel Studios’ ‘The Eternals’ Taps Richard Madden To Play Ikaris
After the release of Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame, some thought the film giant would take a bit of a break but it looks like quite the opposite. Marvel is planning to jump straight into Phase 4 and is deep into casting for their next big franchise, The Eternals. In fact, it was just reported by The Wrap that the studio is in talks with Richard Madden to star as Ikaris.
Madden is best known for roles in Game of Thrones and Bodyguard but is now looking to the cosmos as he will star opposite Angelina Jolie and Kumail Nanjiani in The Eternals. The film is set to focus on a group of ancient human beings living thousands of years in the past.
It was later reported by Variety that Madden will be playing the character Ikaris, one of the main Eternals. Other than this not much else is known about the film. So as further information about The Eternals is released be sure to stay tuned to Full Circle!
The Rider director Chloe Zhao will helm the film, which has a screenplay by Matthew and Ryan Firpo. The Eternals is expected to launch into theaters in 2020.
Created by Jack Kirby in 1976, the Eternals are a race of superpowered, near-immortal beings who were created by the Celestials.
