Boyd Holbrook Eyed For Johnny Cash In ‘A Complete Unknown’

James Mangold’s Bob Dylan biopic is looking to add another star to its cast. According to insider Daniel Richtman, Boyd Holbrook has been offered the role of Johnny Cash in A Complete Unknown.
The film is being distributed by Searchlight Pictures and will star Timothée Chalamet. Elle Fanning and Benedict Cumberbatch are also attached to the project, which is eyeing an August production date.

Jay Cocks wrote the script for the film, with Mangold handling revisions. Dylan’s manager Jeff Rosen produced the project alongside Veritas Entertainment Group’s Bob Bookman, Alan Gasmer, and Peter Jaysen, Automatik’s Fred Berger, The Picture Company’s Alex Heineman, and Mangold. Executive producers include Dylan, as well as Automatik’s Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Andrew Rona.
Holbrook is well known for his roles in Mangold’s Logan and The Sandman. He is set to appear in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny as well as the upcoming season of the television series Justified.
