Disney Shifts Release Dates For ‘The Marvels’ & ‘The Haunted Mansion’

This weekend sees the release of the latest installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. However, as has been the cast since its inception, the future of the MCU is always on the horizon. Now, it appears the slate of upcoming projects is being shifted around a bit. According to Deadline, Disney is moving the release dates for a few big films.
First, Marvel Studios’ The Marvels will no longer be opening on July 28th. Instead, the film will open on Veterans Day weekend on November 10th. This news comes with the release of the film’s first poster, featuring its stars Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, and Iman Vellani. Check it out below!

Additionally, Disney has moved the studio’s latest The Haunted Mansion adaptation to July 28th. The film features an absolutely star-studded ensemble cast including Rosario Dawson, LaKeith Stanfield, Owen Wilson, Tiffany Haddish, Winona Ryder, Dan Levy, Jared Leto, Danny DeVito, and Jamie Lee Curtis.
The release date shifts come off the heels of a report by The Hollywood Reporter that Disney is looking to pull back on its onslaught of films set in the Marvel and Star Wars universes. The newly reinstated CEO admits the company needs to be “better at curating” content that’s “extraordinarily expensive.” “We want the quality on the screen, but we have to look at what they cost us,” Iger says.
