Benedict Cumberbatch To Star In & Produce Netflix’s ‘Eric’

Netflix is the center of controversy this week following the news that it will begin cracking down on password sharing. However, despite all of that the creative forces at the streaming service continue to develop new and exciting projects to keep users interested. As first reported by Deadline, Benedict Cumberbatch is set to star in a new series for Netflix titled Eric.
Per the initial report, the actor will also serve as an executive producer on the project. He joins Gaby Hoffmann (C’mon C’mon), McKinley Belcher II (Ozark), Dan Fogler (Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore), and Phoebe Nicholls (Transformers: The Last Knight) in the cast. the series hails from Chernobyl producer Sister and features a script penned by Abi Morgan (The Iron Lady).

Eric reportedly follows Cumebrbatch’s character follows Vincent Anderson, a puppeteer struck with grief following the disappearance of his son. However, Vincent finds solace through a newfound friendship with a monster that lives under his son’s bed named Eric.
Benedict Cumberbatch recently starred in Sam Raimi’s latest film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness for Marvel. Additionally, the movie star touts memorable roles on television in hit shows like Sherlock, What If…?, and Good Omens. Up next, Cumberbatch will star alongside Ralph Fiennes and Dev Patel in Wes Anderson’s The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar.
