Don Cheadle Says Michael Jordan Has An Unexpected Role In ‘Space Jam: A New Legacy’

One of the biggest movie releases of 2021 is the long-awaited sequel to the 1996 cult classic Space Jam. With Lebron James in the starring role, many were curious if the legacy of NBA Hall of Famer Michael Jordan would be mentioned in the movie. During a conversation with Access Hollywood, Don Cheadle reveals that Jordan does indeed play a role in the movie.
When asked about Michael Jordan’s potential return, Cheadle didn’t offer any specific details. However, he did say “Michael Jordan is in the movie. But not in the way you’d expect it.”

While the highly-anticipated feature will drop in July, little is known of the actual plot. However, Full Circle Cinema previously reported that the film will incorporate other characters owned by Warner Bros like Joker and Pennywise. The initial trailer confirms those reports with the appearances by Godzilla, Kong, and Scooby-Doo.
Jordan joins fellow NBA legend, Lebron James, in the film, titled Space Jam: A New Legacy. Don Cheadle, Zendaya, and Sonequa Martin-Green are also among those appearing in the live-action/animated hybrid. The voice cast also includes Gabriel Iglesias, Eric Bauza, Bob Bergen, and Jeff Bergman bringing the legendary Looney Tunes characters to life.
