‘Transformers’ Looking To Cast Tessa Thompson Type In Lead Role

Paramount and Hasbro are looking to reignite the Transformers franchise with a brand new installment. And now, according to insider Daniel Richtman, they are looking to cast a Tessa Thompson type actress to lead the film.
In November, it was announced that Creed 2 director Steven Caple Jr. was hired to direct the new installment in the franchise. Details have been scarce on the project since then, but recently it was rumored that the film will be titled Transformers: Beast Alliance. The movie will be set in the Bumblebee timeline and set in the 1990s.

Now Richtman has revealed that the studio is looking for an actress like Thompson for one of the two leads. Interestingly, the film isn’t looking to cast Thompson herself instead opting for someone different. Some potential actresses that could fill this role could be Ruth Negga, Jurnee Smollett, or Zoë Kravitz. Details on the role are currently unknown, but fans should expect further updates as production on the film continues.
